Home Stay with Gurung
Accommodation is offered at community-run home-stays in Ghalegaun and Ghanpokhara and other villages. Visitors have a chance to have a closer look at Gurung lifestyle by staying in their homes, sharing their home-cooked food and interacting with them as family guests. Food offered here is wholesome and organic, usually rice, dal, home-made buckwheat and millet bread, local vegetables and meat served with Pa (local millet alcohol). Visitors go to their allocated home for meals and to rest. Here guests are able to observe the lifestyle of the Gurungs of this region, who still follow traditional customs during birth, marriage and other important occasions. The home-stay experience is complemented by cultural shows performed by community members on request of visitors. The special feature of this village is that the Himalayas can be seen from every home.
Honey Hunting
Hunting for honey is an age-old tradition among the people of Ghalegaun and Ghanpokhara. The local honey hunters show exceptional skills as they hang from steep cliffs as high as 300 m using bamboo ladders and hemp ropes, while harvesting the honeycombs of wild bees. The honey is harvested twice a year during April-May and October-November. Honey collected in April-May from hives on the steep cliffs is highly flavored. It is used as medicine and has a high price n the international market.
Cultural Attractions
Ghalegaun- Ghanpokhara is a model village for experiencing the typical culture and lifestyles of the Gurung people. Traditional customs are still followed during births, deaths, marriages and in other rituals. Age old cultural dances like Jyaure, serka, dohori, Ghatu, Sorathi, Jankri etc are performed on various occasions accompanied by different musical instruments and with the dancers in traditional dress.

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu (1320m.) Your arrival at the Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) and you will be meeting our airport representative then transfer to hotel.
Day 02: Kathmandu - Khudi Drive from Kathmandu - Khudi via Bimalnagar. On the way, hike to Siddha Cave from Bimalnagar. Touring Buddhist monasteries and walk along River Marsyangdi and observe local lifestyle.
Day 03: Khudi - Ghalegaun Trekking from Khudi - Ghalegaun. Viewing mountains Mt. Annapurna and Manaslu ranges, and river valleys. Observing Himalayan culture on the way.
Day 04: Ghalegaun - Ghanpokhara Hiking from Ghalegaun - Ghanpokhara. Viewing sunrise and surrounding mountains Mt. Annapurna and Manaslu ranges. Village Tour.
Day 05: Ghanpokhara - Khudi Trekking down from Ghanpokhara - Khudi. Viewing waterfall and cave. Visiting construction site of Khudi Hydro Electricity Project.
Day 06: Khudi - Kathmandu It is our day to explore this lively and exotic city. Our guide will take us to visit the World Heritage Sites of the valley and some other historically and culturally important places of the valley. In the evening, a farewell dinner would be served at Nepali typical restaurant.

Price for the Trip
The total cost for the trek or tour you decide you want to do will depend on several different factors. The type of accommodation you prefer in Kathmandu and/ or Pokhara will make a difference to the overall cost (budget to 5 star accommodation) The mode of transport you prefer will also affect the cost of your package, for example prices very greatly between flying versus private car/van, tourist or local buses. The number of guides and / or porters required will also affect the total cost of your trek. For these reasons the same trek/tour can vary in price quite substantially.
